3/29 Midnight Release: Air Jordan 1 "Opening Day"

Releasing this Friday at midnight, the Air Jordan 1 "Opening Day" pack for both men and women/kids.


    


    

This iteration of the AJ1 celebrates Michael's wish to pursue the dream of his late father, who had always envisioned him as a major league baseball player. Fortunately for us, his success from the basketball court didn't translate over to the baseball field. Eventually Michael got his mind right and went back to the NBA to 3-peat with the Bulls again.

Although we all had to endure a year of the league without MJ (where he probably would have won another title), Jordan brand now has another reason to release an AJ1, which is just fine by us.

This AJ1 features jersey cloth pinstripe paneling to contrast with the original material of leather. It also has a clear plastic swoosh and baseball inspired stitching on the toe panel and above the swoosh. The "BB" on the heel stands for the team he played for, the Birmingham Barons, and the 3 and 51 equal the number of homeruns and RBI's he had during his pro career.

3/15 11am Release: Converse 1HUND(RED) Chuck Taylor by Dr. Romanelli

    
Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Hi x Dr Romanelli 1HUND(RED) ($100)

This Saturday, March 15 at 11am, we will be releasing Dr. Romanelli's (aka DRx) Converse Chuck Taylor Hi, produced for the (RED) campaign as well as to celebrate Converse's 100th Anniversary. As a member of the (red) campaign, Converse contributes 10% of the net wholesale price of these shoes to The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria and specifically fund HIV/AIDS programs in Africa that focus on the health of women and children.

With that in mind, Dr. Romanelli designed his Chuck with a band-aid theme in a manner similar to what he's become know for, taking vintage fabrics and stitching them together to create new custom pieces. However, the band-aids on the shoe are actually laser-etched, making for a beautifully detailed and intricate design. “The 1HUND(RED) Artists project really motivated me to create something unique and I choose the band-aids as a fix for positive change.”

This shoe is only being released in select boutiques, and we're proud to be one of them.

Lichtenstein Vandal

Men's Vandal High Premium "Pop Art Pack: Roy Lichtenstein" ($98)

Roy Lichtenstein is one of my favorite American Pop Artists. A few years ago I had the chance to view his work, along with many other pop artists (Warhol, Dine, etc) at a Pop Art exhibition held at the SAM. He also has a few pieces in the SAM's permanent Modern and Contemporary Art Collection. Today, pop art’s continuing relevance is demonstrated by the likes of Murakami and Nara, who have reinvigorated the genre.

This Premium Vandal features the benday dots and comic like illustrations on the upper that Lichtenstein used throughout his work.
